Why Essential Oils
At Xēba Botánica, every candle is scented with pure essential oils — never synthetic fragrance. Essential oils are extracted directly from plant material: flowers, woods, resins, and herbs. The aromatic compounds they contain are the same ones found in the plant itself.
Synthetic fragrance oils are engineered to smell like a single note and hold that note consistently. Essential oils don't work that way — they layer, shift, and evolve as they burn, producing an aromatic complexity that can't be replicated in a lab. That behavior is exactly what we're after. It's also why the scents in our candles correspond directly to the scents in our parfum line: same oils, same blends, different medium.
