Key Ingredients & Why They're There
Rose Hydrosol & Rose Oil: The base of the formula. Rose water is rich in antioxidants and natural compounds that support collagen production and soothe redness and irritation. Rose oil reinforces the skin's moisture barrier and delivers concentrated skin-softening fatty acids. Together they make this a serum that actively benefits the skin it carries the actives through.
Bakuchiol Extract: The primary active. At 0.51% concentration, this is a meaningful dose — not a label claim. Bakuchiol stimulates the same collagen-producing and cell-renewing pathways as retinol, but through a distinct molecular mechanism, producing comparable results without photosensitivity, peeling, or a significant purging phase. Antibacterial properties also help prevent breakouts.
Probiotic Lactobacillus Ferment (Radish & Coconut): A probiotic-based natural preservation system. Does the job of synthetic preservatives — maintaining formula integrity and preventing microbial contamination — while also conditioning the skin. A meaningful formulation choice rather than a compromise.
Glycerin: A humectant that draws water from the environment and from deeper skin layers to the surface, resulting in sustained, visible hydration. Also strengthens the skin barrier, improving its ability to retain moisture over time.
Xanthan Gum: Derived from fermented sugar. Gives the serum its consistency and helps hold moisture on the skin's surface. Functions as a thickener and stabilizer, keeping the formula uniform between uses.
Citric Acid: A gentle alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that unclogs pores, smooths texture, and brightens skin tone through mild surface exfoliation. Also balances the formula's pH, which affects how effectively the other actives perform.
Neroli Oil: Extracted from bitter orange blossom. One of the most effective anti-inflammatory essential oils for topical skin use — reduces redness, irritation, and the reactive response common in dry and sensitive skin. Complements bakuchiol's cell-renewal action by calming the skin during the turnover process.
Helichrysum Oil: Strong antioxidant and skin-regenerating properties. Supports collagen and elastin synthesis, accelerates skin repair, and protects against oxidative damage. One of the most concentrated plant actives for skin cell regeneration — included here for function, not fragrance.
Rosemary Oil: Its antimicrobial and pore-clearing properties make rosemary a practical addition to a serum for acne-prone skin. Also increases circulation, which supports nutrient delivery to skin cells and contributes to a more even complexion over time.
